Dverghold – Early Access Out Now!

As most of us know, the dwarves in their greed can’t help but dig a little too deep—usually unearthing something foul that soon thereafter becomes a plague for everyone. Dverghold is no different, with you answering the call for massive underground cleanup. In other words, Dverghold is out in Early Access, with its first four dungeon levels to be explored. It’s a turn-based blobber, and when I tried the demo, I came to enjoy it a lot.

I’m hesitant about Early Access games nowadays, but Dverghold feels like a sure bet if you like these types of (rare) games. It’s incredibly cheap too, coming out to 13.16 euros for me, with a current 15% discount. So, go get it! Release trailer after the jump.

Urban Strife – 1.0 Release is Imminent!

After ten years of development and a few years in Early Access, it’s finally time for Urban Strife to hit the 1.0 release on the 14th. Now, while I was pretty harsh toward the game in my Early Access Impressions article, I saw great potential in the title. So it’s with some excitement I await the release tomorrow. Have things been improved?

One of the big reasons for my scathing review was the weak writing, but I might be in luck, as it seems they hired an English-speaking veteran narrative designer to go over the dialogue. Dverghold – Early Access Release Date [Trailer]

Back in February this year, I gave the Dverghold demo a go and found it very appealing in both gameplay/mechanics and retro visual style. In other words: it was something to look forward to—if you enjoy blobbers, that is. And now a release date has been announced, which is closer than I expected: July 22, 2026. It comes with one drawback, though—an Early Access release.

It will be released in an unfinished state, but it will contain Chapter 1 of the story. I just hope it’s a success so we actually get to see the completion of the game—because EA, in the context of an indie developer, is truly a double-edged sword for early adopters. But I believe in Kvltgames!

Xenonauts 2 – DLC confirmed?

In their latest patch notes, the devs let us know that the team behind it wants to continue making content for Xenonauts 2.

“Now the dust has started to settle on the 1.0 launch, we’ve taken some time to collect our thoughts—and everyone on the team is indeed keen to continue expanding the game via DLC“

So, I assume with that tidbit the game sold well enough to warrant DLCs, which is excellent news for us alien blasters. Continued support is great by itself, but hearing that tactical games like Xenonuats 2 are still viable in this world of endless Fortnite clones soothes my heart. That’s all, folks!

ATOM RPG 2 – Kickstarter launched!

The boys at Atom Team are at it again, this time with a Kickstarter for ATOM RPG 2. The game looks to be turn-based still, with the same recognizable visual style as the other titles in the series—but with a few clear changes. A third-person camera seems to be an option now, and, of course, the damn driving! I approve.

I pledged 19 euros for the Caspian Wastelander tier. So now, the waiting begins for another RPG set in an apocalyptic world drenched in eastern flair. Check out the trailer below, and the Kickstarter page here!
