The Tragedy at Deer Creek – Frontier Trauma [Review]

Put on your best jacket and a warm pair of socks because we are heading into the cold frontier! The Tragedy at Deer Creek is a point-and-click adventure title with a heavy focus on its story. While the gameplay, the presentation and the narrative are very competently made, I’m in the middle of how I ended up feeling for the game. That’s mostly for my general dislike of ghost stories, as they usually don’t work on me at all.

Fort Solis – Mystery Abandoned [Review]

Put on your best space boots, because we are in for a walking-sim on Mars. Fort Solis can best be described as an extremely cinematic Telltale-type of game, with even less gameplay, but arguably better presentation. I don’t mind the occasional walking sim if the story is good—so the question stands: Is Fort Solis worth it?

Cralon – Demo Impressions

It’s time to try Björn and Jennifer Pankratz’s (former Piranha Bytes) game Cralon from their newly established studio, Pithead Studio. Cralon is a first-person dungeon crawler that is clearly inspired by the classic title Ultima Underworld. After finishing the short demo, the exploration and atmosphere sure are there. Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy – Side-quests or Die! [Review]

Welcome to AtomTeam’s third RPG: Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy. If you have played any of their former projects, like ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game, or ATOM RPG Trudograd, you know what to expect here. It’s essentially the same type of roleplaying experience—created in the same engine, following the established structure, and gameplay mechanics they created. However, this time they are ditching the radiated wasteland for a lush low-fantasy medieval world, where the sword rules instead of the rifle.

Syndicate – Corporate Assassin [Review]

Syndicate is the 3D visualization in the form of a first-person-shooter and reboot of the classic game from 1993 with the same name. While I think Starbreeze (the devs) managed to capture cyberpunk aesthetics and the dystopian corporate warfare, the story could have been a lot better. It’s somewhat disappointing, considering the rich setting the game has to pick from. What’s much better is the gameplay. However, this part is not without problems either, even if it’s fun. Before diving into the story and gameplay details, we will have to go over some technical hurdles!
