Xenonauts 2 – DLC confirmed?

In their latest patch notes, the devs let us know that the team behind it wants to continue making content for Xenonauts 2.

“Now the dust has started to settle on the 1.0 launch, we’ve taken some time to collect our thoughts—and everyone on the team is indeed keen to continue expanding the game via DLC“

So, I assume with that tidbit the game sold well enough to warrant DLCs, which is excellent news for us alien blasters. Continued support is great by itself, but hearing that tactical games like Xenonuats 2 are still viable in this world of endless Fortnite clones soothes my heart. That’s all, folks!

Xenonauts 2 with a PS4 controller [Steam]

Yeah, this might come off as heretical, but sometimes I do enjoy playing games in front of the big TV on the comfy sofa. The only problem is that most good games are for PC now, and some genres do not support gamepads. However, with the Steam input controller anything is possible, regardless of the game having native support or not. And as it is, which is not too surprising, Xenonauts 2 does not have support for a gamepad. Here comes Steam to the rescue!

Close Encounters

I played some more Xenonauts 2, even though I have said to myself that I won’t touch it until milestone 5. It’s just too much fun when you are in the mood for some X-com-like action, but don’t want to go full autism mode. Anyway, I decided to try the zoom function a bit, and boy. There are so many details that go missing when you play at the default perspective. The models of the units, and the environment are very elaborate with markings of uniforms, detailed faces of humans, and alien features that you otherwise wouldn’t see, or take notice of.
