The Blood of Dawnwalker [Gameplay video #2]

Another long-form gameplay video is out for the RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker to showcase the different paths you can take to complete quests. Just like in my comment on the first video, the similarity to Witcher 3 is still very palpable. Now, I have warmed up to it more since, and it will probably be an interesting gritty semi-grounded RPG worth playing. Yet it can’t seem to escape that “copied” legacy. If this is a negative, it all depends on how the world feels, of course. If the design is cloned from Witcher 3, it risks being an extremely static world where people don’t mind you ransacking their house for loot. Oh, a priceless heirloom from grandma—worth 2 gold coins? *yoink*.

The Guild – Europa 1410 [Trailer]

I’m a bit late for this one, but I felt I had to make a post about it. You see, The Guild II is one of my favorite management games from the past. It’s janky, a tad buggy, but incredibly charming. Especially in multiplayer where I spent many hours with my sis—to become the top-dog businessman of whatever city we ran at the time. It’s a sandbox combined with an economy simulation, creating the ultimate medieval dynasty game. It has a lot of subtle trolling included in the gameplay to make it a hilarious experience—that might as well backfire on the instigator, to throw the victim into prison.

SCP: First Contact [Film]

SCP: First Contact is by now a classic Machinima created by Evan Royalty, which has reached over 7 million views on YouTube. A most impressive achievement! As the title might allude, it’s a film set in the SCP universe—where we have a team of special operatives investigating a strange event in the Yukon territory. For you that have experienced SCP before knows that nothing good will come from this, beyond providing a tension filled horror flick, that is. It’s made in the Grand Theft Auto 5 engine, and what has been created here is nothing short of remarkable—from atmosphere, to story and voice acting. Take a look for yourself, down below (if you dare).

Arma Reforger: Operation Omega – Back to 1989, baby! [Review]

Finally, Bohemia Interactive decided to release something for us single-player addicts—in the form of a mini-campaign doing commando stuff behind enemy lines. This, naturally, caught my attention, since so far the multiplayer-focused Arma Reforger has not interested me much—beyond a vague curiosity in testing the new and supposed improved engine, that is. So, was it worth the purchase? Read and find out!

Echoes of the Living is out in Early Access!

The survival horror Echoes of the Living is finally out in Early Access! EA, you might sigh, but to be fair, it’s a different kind of EA, as the game is apparently complete. At least one campaign is, while the second one still needs some more work on. This is according to the developers, anyway. It just seems to me that there might be a few issues with the game, as a string of patches has been released since it came out. Maybe not everything is hunky-dory—so a tiny warning.

Beyond this, the game looks excellent, and it comes with an opening discount that lasts until the tenth of November. It rests at a respectable 81% approval rate currently, which is pretty good. Down below, you will find the latest trailer!
