Trespasser: Jurassic Park’s Biggest Failure? – A History [Video]

Trespasser could be one of the most mythical games to me thanks to its theme (Jurassic Park), year of release (in my youth), and the general mysterious feel of the game. I’m glad the excellent YouTuber Monotonal Lizard | MNTM is here to pull back the curtains and let the sunlight in to demystify the game. However, only to a certain degree. After sitting through his six-hour mastodon project, I still feel Trespasser is surrounded by mystique, despite its clear, heavy faults. The Lost World: Jurassic Park – Who Is the Real Bad Guy? [Film Deep Dive]

In Steven Spielberg’s sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park—who truly is the bad guy? I will give you a hint. It’s not the new CEO of InGen, Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard)—he is actually one of the main victims in the film. I will explain. 

Outside of what we will talk about, The Lost World isn’t that great, especially not as a Jurassic Park movie. It has a few cool scenes, like the camper on the cliff, but overall, I found it to be a cynical movie—that strays from the original’s theme. The book is very similar in this style, too, surprisingly. But since I’m not here to exactly review the film, nor the book, let’s get going.

Jurassic Park: The Game – Barbasol Edition

Jurassic Park: The Game is a Telltale Games production, so you know what you are getting when starting this piece of interactive media. It will be all quick-times events of various difficulty, spliced with stiff cartoon animations and the occasional point & click adventure puzzle of old thrown in for good measure. What it got, and what makes it unique, is the wonderful Jurassic Park license. And what do you know, they actually do a good job of using it, with a minimum of cringe-inducing scenes and flat-out lore contradictions.
