You will own nothing [DRM Hell]

Thanks to a new California law, as far as I understand, Steam is now required to present the games for sale as a license purchase in California. Instead of having it say, you are buying the game. Now, this is not news to me, considering the games you buy on Steam, and other digital stores are firmly locked to your account. Meaning you have no ownership over the product, with no means to sell it to someone else.

Rings of Power [Season 2, Episode 8 – The End]

It’s finally over, the season that is, but considering how it’s going, I would not be surprised if this is the end for good. I wouldn’t cry any tears if it was. Regardless, it was an entertaining watch. To see millions of dollars endlessly being burned away like it holds no value. It’s like the creator, owner or whatever, is just too proud to let it go and call defeat. Too much damn money has been invested, and if they by a million to one chance got one episode right, it would be all worth it, right? It’s crazy honesty, because this finale was horrendous.

Crysis: Escalation by Gavin Smith [Book Review]

Crysis: Escalation is a novel to bridge the games Crysis 2 and Crysis 3, which is a bit more interesting than Crysis: Legion, since it was just a retelling of the events of Crysis 2. I didn’t dislike that book, since it contained additional lore about the world and characters. However, the general plot didn’t excite me much, as I already knew what would happen going in. Crysis: Escalation avoids this baggage completely by telling new captivating stories about the world of Crysis, and boy if it doesn’t supplement the franchise with a lot of cool additional information. It doesn’t follow one story – it’s a collection of events/tales of the land, eventually leading up to the start of Crysis 3.

Rings of Power [Season 2, Episode 7 – The Siege of Weird]

This entire episode is the siege of Eregion, which could have been awesome. However, thanks to inept writers, totally unable to create any kind of tension or fun action, it becomes an hour-long bore, instead of something exciting. To be fair, stuff happens, and both elves and orcs (a few horses) get their throats cut. Yet, it’s made boring since the flow of battle is hard to follow, and has horrible cinematic direction.

We are back [DRM HELL]

We are back here once again. This time it involves the game Valfaris on Steam. A game I bought in a Fanatical bundle back in 2022. Today, the developer suddenly decided to revoke my game, essentially removing my game from my digital library on Steam. A product that I paid for.
