Dragon’s Dogma 2 (Quick Impressions)

The first Dragon’s Dogma was a real gem. I played it first on the Xbox 360, but the performance was abysmal on that console. It ruined the experience back then, which led to me never finishing it. However, the Steam release that came many years later saved it and showed me the true potential of the game. It had a few quirks and faults, but overall, it was a fun and pretty unique experience. Especially the pawn system. So, with Dragon’s Dogma 2 coming out, I couldn’t help but get it on release.

Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy – New upcoming RPG!

Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy is a new upcoming RPG that takes heavy inspiration from the first (and best) Baldur’s Gate. It’s made by the developers AtomTeam, which in the past has created such titles as ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game and ATOM RPG: Trudograd. So, it’s not some random dudes trying to break in with the fancy idea of RPG throwback – it’s a genuine thing that gives me confidence that it will be a fine product. They recently released a gameplay trailer that you can watch below.

Baldur’s Gate 3 – Patch 6 disaster!

I have not played Baldur’s Gate 3 in a while now, so I have not experienced patch 6 myself. But going by the news, this patch seems to have totally broken the game, and this is not to exaggerate the problems. Some of these issues are actually game-stopping, or will just cause your game to crash outright.

Someone has made a 10-page Google document of all the issues, which can be found here. Here is a small list that caught my eye of some of the complications (text copied from the Google document).

Avowed – The Gameplay Trailers

Finally, Obsidian released something more substantial than a few screens of their upcoming RPG Avowed in the form of a game trailer, and a deep-dive. And what can I say? Well, I can’t say that I feel any kind of hype whatsoever, since going by the footage presented it looks like a fantasy version of The Outer Worlds. That game was one of the biggest disappointments coming from Obsidian Entertainment ever, considering some legendary names were attached to it, like Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky.

Archaelund – Early Access Impressions

Recently Archaelund came out in Early Access, and being the starved RPG nerd that I am, I decided to buy it with full knowledge that it won’t be completed until at least the year 2025… or was it 2026? Either way, the game is far away from being finished, but even in this early stage, it shows promise and a solid foundation for the future. I also want to point out, that this is being made by a solo developer, which is impressive by itself. Let’s get into it.
