The X-Files: Resist or Serve – Tunguska Oil Menace [Review]

I want to believe… that there is a good X-files game out there. Believing is one thing, getting it is another. I’m not saying The X-Files: Resist or Serve is terrible, because it’s not. It’s not exactly great, either. Enjoyable yes, somewhat faithful to the lore for the X-Files buffs, with “janky” as its middle name. So, for everyone climbing on board, be warned! You will be in for a rough ride! Before anything else, some technical things.

The Complete Project Zomboid Lore Story [Film]

Say, how about a full feature zombie outbreak mock documentary in the world of Project Zomboid? It has everything from the initial conspiracy, to the failed evacuation of Muldraugh—so prepare your behind for a full bloody undead disaster time-line. I found it very amusing that Spiffo, the cute mascot, is implied to be part of the outbreak—at least the owners of the logo. I doubt this is canon in any way, but it works as any other explanation for the outbreak.

The creators (Undead Captures) made the film in a first-person camera view, in a low-poly visual style that works splendidly to capture the feel of Project Zomboid. Seeing as it actually looks like it could be from the game, but now viewed from a boots-on-the-ground perspective. Overall, everything involved with this fan project is impressive—from the motion capture for the animations, to the story and atmosphere. It feels true to the genre, campy, but still a serious tale from the apocalypse. It was very easy for me to get caught up in the story.

I highly recommend you check out the movie after the jump, especially if you enjoy the zombie genre, and have played Project Zomboid. There’s a lot for fans to recognize!

Resident Evil: The Lost City of America [Video]

Fetch your popcorn! A fantastic Resident Evil lore video by VF86 TV has arrived that tells the tale of Raccoon City in the style of a late night true-crime documentary. Serious effort has gone into the production, which makes it feel like the real thing. It’s eerily immersive, with slick editing, music and voice-acting—in other words: top-notch stuff if you want something spooky to watch for the month of October. You can check out the film after the jump!

My Top 10 ZOMBIE games on PC

Ah, zombies! The most overused modern monster in any medium. Despite that, I can’t get enough of the zombie apocalypse. However, in my opinion, most creators miss the mark by turning their projects into mindless zombie slaughters, without any of the famous tension or civilization-ending dread from the Romero days. Yet, there are some titles that headshot their way to great atmosphere and storytelling!

So, here are my Top 10 Zombie Games for PC.

Wimpy simp Leon vs. Chad Leon [video]

While being a fun video, it’s one of the best showcases to symbolize the decay of fun, and somewhat edgy video-game characters. All to fit a “modern audience” (whatever that entails). A character that is now not even allowed to be a little cheeky towards the opposite sex. It’s a tough world when not even a self-assured super agent like Leon is given a pass in this sanitized age. What makes this video so great is that the modern remake is essentially the same game as the classic Resident Evil 4, but with a re-written protagonist to not run the risk of offending anyone.

He is not the only one in the cast to be neutered, but he is the stand-out character in this case. Although I enjoyed the Resident Evil 4 Remake, much of the cool 1990 to early 2000s personality was erased, to be replaced by a boring semi-depressive hero, rather than the collected one-line spouting badass that he once was. Check out the great video below, by the channel TerakJK.
