Halo TV show: Episode 5, season 2 – Paintball time

It’s time for my weekly dose of sleeping aid. However, I didn’t fall asleep during the show this time, but if the suffering lasted any longer I would surely have. So, what happened in this episode? Well, nothing. Master Chief and crew managed to flee Reach. Soren’s girlfriend somehow succeeds in bypassing the ship blockade of the planet and finds them in the ruins of Reach. Before that, one of the Spartans (the female one) almost suicide by “rescuing” a corpse. I guess the drugs the Spartans are on screws with their sense of survival instincts.

Halo TV show: Episode 3, season 2

Boy, can it get worse? Probably. At least in this episode, they acknowledge that Master Chief is just a grunt, and should not have any kind of special knowledge, or privilege from Fleetcom. Like all soldiers, he should follow orders, and do what he is told. However, as seen, John can’t just help himself. He gets hunches of bad things, and his PTSD from fighting aliens seems to be all too much for him to function properly as a tool of doom. So he steals planes and makes up fake missions for his team…

Halo TV show season 2 – some thoughts

The first two episodes of season two of the Halo TV show have premiered, and in a sick curiosity, I had to check it out. You might think that they would improve the show after the disaster that was the first season, at least that was my initial thought. Oh, how wrong I was. This show is still wearing the skin suit of Halo, and it makes me seriously doubt that anyone involved in writing the episodes has even played one minute of the games, or read anything from the books.

Rings of Power [Season 1, Episode 1 & 2 – This cost 1 billion]

Yes, I know, it’s not game related, but I just had to put my two cents in. I watched the two first episodes, and the only thing it did for me is leave me baffled how this show could cost 1 billion dollars. The scenery looks nice from time to time, and while it can look good, it doesn’t impress beyond that. It’s like graphics for games, it just doesn’t do it for me alone anymore, and most of the backgrounds are computer graphics anyway – the cheapest CGI there is. Been there, seen that, you need better art direction to wow me, which you would think 1 billion paid for.

Halo – Episode 1 impressions

Didn’t plan to watch this considering the recent track record of Halo (Yes, even Halo Infinite), and in general games to movie adaptations… But, as a fan of Halo at least one time long ago, I had to give it a go. I have always liked the universe, the struggle and the military aspect of it – so if enough of that stuff gets transferred over it should be an okay watch, right? Well, what can I say, it does keep some details of the games, like names and the general universe setting, overall, though, I found the whole thing pretty abysmal with it being Halo on a visual level only.
