Space Scum – Battle Brothers in space?

Discovered this game over at RPG Codex, and after watching the trailer shown: I’m hyped! Space Scum looks to take the gameplay and visual style of Battle Brothers and set it in space. You know what that means? Having your own (doomed?) mercenary company fighting slimy aliens, horrifyingly disfigured mutants and robots hell-bent on human eradication (I presume). It seems to be open-world too, as the game promises a sandbox experience over at their Steam page, which can only be a good thing in this type of game. Now, we just hope the mercenary company mechanics match Battle Brothers too. That losing a couple of guys is not necessarily the death of the company. They are promising a demo soon in August, so I’m looking forward to that. Make sure to keep an eye out if you think Space Scum looks intriguing! Trailer after the jump.

Menace – Huge FAQ

Overhype Studios decided to release a huge FAQ about their upcoming game Menace. It contains many juicy bits, that makes it easy now to form what the game will, and will not, be. The Ultimate X-com Experience

There is a way to improve the legendary campaign of X-com without changing too much of the original experience. Now, I’m not saying my changes/mods, or the main mod itself is on the same level as that patch, but it’s based on the same principles. So, welcome to my take on the ultimate X-com experience!

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified – A good game?

The confused Xcom. The hated Xcom! The Xcom that wasn’t Xcom. It was a divisive time, and I do agree partly with the naysayers—it sure didn’t feel like the classic games going by the promotional material. But as it turned out, I took a real liking to it. I can’t say anything about the first-person-oil-slick-enemy-Xcom that was the original pitch because that game never got to see the light of day. Instead, we got an underrated little squad-based third-person shooter with RPG elements in the company of a damn good pulp-like story. This game is one of my guilty pleasures, and I think I have finished it three times by now. I’m here to tell you why it’s so good and why you should play it. And there are plenty of reasons to do so!
