The Swordhaven Kickstarter has launched!

The Kickstarter for the upcoming low-key Baldur’s Gate I-inspired RPG Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy has launched. I backed it for 15 euros, which grants me a digital key for the game when it comes out, but not much else. The Kickstarter is at this moment around 19% complete. To me it looks like they will make it, however, I’m not a Kickstarter expert. I sure as hell hope they do make it because I tested the demo that you can find on their Steam page, and it’s good. It’s very charming and plays superbly into the low-level adventure feel.

Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy – New upcoming RPG!

Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy is a new upcoming RPG that takes heavy inspiration from the first (and best) Baldur’s Gate. It’s made by the developers AtomTeam, which in the past has created such titles as ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game and ATOM RPG: Trudograd. So, it’s not some random dudes trying to break in with the fancy idea of RPG throwback – it’s a genuine thing that gives me confidence that it will be a fine product. They recently released a gameplay trailer that you can watch below.

The Sweet Baby Inc controversy

Now, this is a doozy. I don’t like to talk about this kind of stuff too much, but I find this thing too big to ignore since it directly influences my fun in the form of video games. Anyway. It seems the normie, the mainstream gamer has finally awoken to see what the gaming industry has become – a cesspool of SJWs, nepotism, and a hatred for white men. I’m not even hyperbolic, as this is what consulting writing gaming company Sweet Baby Inc. stands for, which you can see in for example conference talks they do. They are not exactly hiding it, and most of this has been documented, even if they now try to scorch the earth and remove all evidence. But the internet never forgets.

RPG Codex – GOTY 2023

RPG Codex recently declared their Game of the Year through forum member voting, and to the surprise of many, Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t actually win like they have been doing everywhere else. Jagged Alliance 3 of all games won it, with Baldur’s Gate 3 coming second, and Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game coming third.

Baldur’s Gate 3 – Patch 6 disaster!

I have not played Baldur’s Gate 3 in a while now, so I have not experienced patch 6 myself. But going by the news, this patch seems to have totally broken the game, and this is not to exaggerate the problems. Some of these issues are actually game-stopping, or will just cause your game to crash outright.

Someone has made a 10-page Google document of all the issues, which can be found here. Here is a small list that caught my eye of some of the complications (text copied from the Google document).
