Gears of War: Ultimate Edition – Popping Moles

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (for Windows 10) is a remaster of the original Gears of War that came out in 2006 for Xbox 360. It was made by Epic Games, and it was a big financial success, popularizing the third-person shooter with cover mechanics. The remaster is made by The Coalition, which has also made the modern 4th, and 5th games in the series. I’m not sure what came over me, but I was in the mood for popping some moles, and what game is better than that than the OG pop-a-mole title! I played it with an Xbox 360 controller to maintain the feel of the 360-days.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command – Bugs!

Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a real-time strategy game by The Artistocrats, published by Slitherine. People with bug phobia stay away, this game is absolutely riddled with them. No, not technical bugs, but bugs to shoot, maim and burn. Just like the movies! And as you might have guessed, this game is based on the movie IP, and not the book. Which is fine with me. I do enjoy Heinlein’s book, but I find the movie setting better. It has that brutal WW1 feeling to it, and the bugs you are massacring are actually evil. It also has one of the hottest military chicks in any movie ever. R.I.P. Dizzy!

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector – Grimsnooze

Warhammer 40,0000: Battlesector is Warhammer game number 543, and this one is made by Black Lab Games. It’s a turn-based tactical game, and while it’s a PC game in sense of story, progression, talent system, etc., it resembles the board game type of army battles people do face to face. With that, I mean you are limited to what force you can scrounge up with the army points you are given on each battle encounter. A bit gamey perhaps, but it holds true to the roots from what I gather. Regardless, it’s still a game with a typical campaign, story, and stoic Space Marines spouting platitudes. And well, it couldn’t be more boring!

The Ultimate X-com Experience

There is a way to improve the legendary campaign of X-com without changing too much of the original experience. It works as an enchantment rather than an actual conversion, a bit like what the community patch 1.3 have done for Jagged Alliance 2. Now, I’m not saying my changes/mods, or the main mod itself is on the same level as that patch, but it’s based on the same principles. So, welcome to my take on the ultimate X-com experience!
