Watch Dogs – Who watches the watchers?

I decided to give Watch Dogs another go after playing the DLC Bloodline for Watch Dogs: Legion which has Aiden Pearce as the main lead. Simply, I wanted to know more about him and to see maybe if I had misjudged Aiden, and the game itself. The short of it is… yes! Yes, I had. While it does have some gameplay issues, the story, world-building, and characterization of Aiden are the most interesting parts – that now in retrospect make more sense in the Legion expansion.

The Thaumaturge – Rasputin Forever

It’s time to travel back to early nineteenth-century occupied Warsaw – specifically to a weird alternative version of our timeline where demonology is an actual thing. An interesting thing about The Thaumaturge is that it’s listed as an RPG. After playing it, a more apt genre description would be an ambitious point-and-click adventure, or maybe an avant-garde walking simulator if I’m going to be mean.

Aleksandrs Cernavskis [Atom Team] (Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy) – Interview

Welcome to an interview with Aleksandrs Cernavskis, the writer and combat designer for the developer team Atom Team. Aleksandrs and the rest of the Atom Team are currently running a Kickstarter for their upcoming low-fantasy RPG Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy. However, these guys are not some random rookies concerning making games. In their portfolio, you will find the well-liked and popular isometric Fallout-inspired RPGs: ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game and ATOM RPG Trudograd.

Star Trek: Infinite is dead

In the final dev log for Star Trek: Infinite it is unfortunately explained that the game has now been officially abandoned and left for dead. In my review, I talked about how much I liked its approach to the Stellaris style of gameplay – how it was way more focused on a specific timeline and with a smaller scale. Not something the Star Trek mods do. Sadly, that dream of a stand-alone Star Trek 4X game is now dead, as I was hoping for a couple of healthy expansions. Even if I liked the game as it is, a couple of DLCs would not have hurt to expand on the gameplay (unless it’s the greedy bad kind, of course).

The Swordhaven Kickstarter has launched!

The Kickstarter for the upcoming low-key Baldur’s Gate I-inspired RPG Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy has launched. I backed it for 15 euros, which grants me a digital key for the game when it comes out, but not much else. The Kickstarter is at this moment around 19% complete. To me it looks like they will make it, however, I’m not a Kickstarter expert. I sure as hell hope they do make it because I tested the demo that you can find on their Steam page, and it’s good. It’s very charming and plays superbly into the low-level adventure feel.
