Mafia – Definitive Edition is a remake of the classic PC game Mafia, and it’s made by the developer Hanger 13, which also did Mafia 3. While I do remember Mafia, at least parts of it, and I do recognize its cultural impact on the PC gaming scene, I was not that blown away by it back then. I did think it was an okay game, but funnily enough, the open-world fatigue had already set in for me back then, even in its infancy. Or well, you can say, I did recognize the pointlessness of having a big world if nothing is going on in it. A thing, this game is masterfully remade as well…

Chameleon – Forgotten Stealth
Chameleon is a stealth action game made by the guys behind Hidden & Dangerous, Mafia, and the Vietcong franchise. They were known as Illusion Softworks, and like many game developers from the past, they are no more. The thing that makes Chameleon interesting is that it was only released in Eastern Europe since it didn’t see proper publishing in the West. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (for Windows 10) is a remaster of the original Gears of War that came out in 2006 for Xbox 360. I’m not sure what came over me, but I was in the mood for popping some moles, and what game is better than that than the OG pop-a-mole title! I played it with an Xbox 360 controller to maintain the feel of the 360-days.

Selaco is a first-person boomer shooter running on GZDoom, and it’s made by the developer team Altered Orbit Studios. It’s bloody, very fast, and very retro-pixel, but is it good? Going by the demo, the game shows great potential, yet, it stumbles a bit on the actual shooter part, which to me is perplexing. Then again, maybe I’m not the audience for this.

We Who Are About To Die is a top-down gladiator simulator in real time combat, with you controlling one gladiator. The controls and mechanics are very similar to Exanima. The game even shares some keyboard keys, like holding down ALT to stab with certain weapons. The developer is a sole dude named Jordy Lakiere, and the game, while somewhat janky is pretty impressive for a one-man show.
