Ghost Recon: Future Soldier – What the hell?

I was feeling for some casual tactical pop-a-mole, so I popped the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier disc into the good old Xbox 360—a game I bought for this specific reason months ago. What I didn’t expect was that the series had turned so casual, it now ventured into Call of Duty territory. It had become so casual that the incredibly heavily scripted nature of a CoD campaign was now part of the Ghost Recon franchise. I was actually taken aback a little, since this is the opposite of what the series once was.

Star Trek – Redshirt Genocide [Review]

Star Trek caught a lot of flak when it was released back in 2013. It was a broken and boring game with supposedly no redeemable features at all, according to game journalists at the time. So, it was a given I had to try it. But first, before we get into the game, I want to say that I’m not the biggest fan of the Kelvin Star Trek universe which this game is set in. It’s too flashy, with focus on action, and making everything typical “Hollywood”, instead of the cerebral entertainment of the old show.

The chance of seeing the game actually being made has gone up from 50/50 to 70/30 in their favor. This is good, of course, but it’s not without issues, with the biggest being from a question made by user Frenzin on RPG Codex regarding animations:

SCP: First Contact [Film]

SCP: First Contact is by now a classic Machinima created by Evan Royalty, which has reached over 7 million views on YouTube. A most impressive achievement! As the title might allude, it’s a film set in the SCP universe—where we have a team of special operatives investigating a strange event in the Yukon territory. For you that have experienced SCP before knows that nothing good will come from this, beyond providing a tension filled horror flick, that is. It’s made in the Grand Theft Auto 5 engine, and what has been created here is nothing short of remarkable—from atmosphere, to story and voice acting. Take a look for yourself, down below (if you dare).

Arma Reforger: Operation Omega – Back to 1989, baby! [Review]

Finally, Bohemia Interactive decided to release something for us single-player addicts—in the form of a mini-campaign doing commando stuff behind enemy lines. This, naturally, caught my attention, since so far the multiplayer-focused Arma Reforger has not interested me much—beyond a vague curiosity in testing the new and supposed improved engine, that is. So, was it worth the purchase? Read and find out!
