Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy [Early Access] is out!

Hurray, Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy is out! However, only in Early Access. It’s planned to stay in EA for about 1-1,5 years, so it’s unfortunately pretty far from being finished. What’s here already, is certainly top-tier, and plays into what I love about RPGs splendidly. Especially, if you are like me and enjoy the more low-key approach to adventuring: think early levels of the first Baldur’s Gate.

Urban Strife finally has a release date!

It’s been a long time coming, several years, actually. But finally, Urban Strife has a release date, and it will be released on the 10th of December this year. However, in life, nothing can just be pleasant. You see, I was certain whenever Urban Strife would grace us with its presence, it would be in the form of a full 1.0 release. Ready for us to dig in and blast zombies all day. Alas, it isn’t so. It will be an Early Access release, with the game being far from finished. While I’m glad it’s finally coming out, I can’t help but feel that this timeline is a bit cursed.

GOG launches a game preservation program

It sure is interesting times. However, jaded as I am when it comes to this industry, I can’t help to think this is being made in response to the Steam/DRM/ownership debacle as some kind of business opportunity. Regardless, it’s a good initiative, with their mission consisting of making sure the old classics work forever and ever. To be a little crass, perhaps, but shouldn’t that be a thing already for GOG? Once again, not trying to be negative here, seeing as this is a good thing. Yet, I can’t help myself to ask these questions.
