Syrian Warfare: Return to Palmyra [DLC]

Welcome back, soldier. It’s time once again to defend the ancient city of Palmyra from the terrorist savages. It won’t be easy. Actually, I’m sure this campaign will be at least double as painful – so make sure the quick save button is ready to see some heavy action. Syrian Warfare: Return to Palmyra is an expansion with five more missions for you to battle out in the Middle East. While it’s still the same old war, you will control a different group of men this time around.

Watch Dogs: Bad Blood [DLC] – Chicago Forever

You can leave Chicago, but Chicago never leaves you. In the DLC Bad Blood, you get more of Watch Dogs in every single way, but without Aiden Pearce as the protagonist. More of the same isn’t necessarily a bad thing – if you enjoy the gameplay and story, that is. So how does it fare, is it a worthwhile purchase and time investment? Well, let’s find out.

Watch Dogs: Legion – Bloodline

The original Watch Dogs: Legion (Watch Dogs 3) was a bit of a hit or miss. It had serious potential with its sandbox nature of recruiting whoever you wanted off the street to work for your little hacker revolution. However, the implementation wasn’t great. It suffered from weird randomization, like having characters’ looks not matching the voice, massive story issues, and the lack of a central protagonist. The near-future City of London was and still is awesome. It has this cool dystopian feeling to it, with high surveillance and military-esque police patrolling the streets. It got a surprising number of things right. For example, the checkpoint system that now is a reality in London – all for the concerns of the mythical “environment”. All in all, a realistic depiction of the WEF future we all have to look forward to, so what’s not to like? Everyone enjoys a good despair from time to time.

Resident Evil 4 [Remake]: Separate Ways – Ada, my love!

It’s time to return to sunny and plagas infected Spain. So, suit up and arm yourself with the best weapons available! Separate Ways is a ten-euro DLC/expansion for Resident Evil 4, and honestly, for that price, I thought it was going to be a cheap cash grab, but boy, I was entirely wrong. Positively surprised by AAA gaming in these apocalyptic days? Yes, apparently, it is still possible.

Majesty 2: Battles of Ardania – Grind Maker

It seems I have played the expansions in the wrong order, as Majesty 2: Battles of Ardania came out before Monster Kingdom. It was actually Majesty 2: Kingmaker that introduced the monster faction, which is the first of the expansions. However, the difference is that they are unplayable in these and only act as an enemy faction, at least in the single-player campaigns. But the new monsters and goblins are all here, and your job is to exterminate them – among others. All fine by me!
