Fallout TV show – Episode 3

We continue with the suffering. To be fair, this episode wasn’t as painful. However, it’s still not good. One reason is that they constantly mess up the tone. One example is when the water monster attacks the BoS guy and his squire. When the creature is about to take a chunk out of the metal-clad protagonist, the show slows down, the music becomes sinister – oh no, is our hero about to face mortal danger! NOPE. You can’t have any tense scenes, it’s not allowed, you see. One moment later the brooding music is replaced with Glenn Miller and the whole scene plays out as a comedy. All tension gone. Why must it be like this?

Fallout TV show – Episode 1 & 2

If Fallout wasn’t dead already through Bethesda’s meddling, it sure as hell is now. This is probably the worst slop, aka franchise-destroying sludge I have ever seen. Maybe even worse than The Rings of Power. To be fair to the show, it looks like Fallout, well, Bethesda’s version of it, so they got the aesthetics right at least. Headquarters: World War II – Rumble in France

I’m not too into the boardgame style of wargames, so I can’t give any kind of expert opinion, but from what I have played so far, Headquarters: World War II is an entertaining title if you enjoy tactical games and turn-based action. Watch Dogs – Who watches the watchers?

I decided to give Watch Dogs another go after playing the DLC Bloodline for Watch Dogs: Legion which has Aiden Pearce as the main lead. Simply, I wanted to know more about him and to see maybe if I had misjudged Aiden, and the game itself. The short of it is… yes! Yes, I had. While it does have some gameplay issues, the story, world-building, and characterization of Aiden are the most interesting parts – that now in retrospect make more sense in the Legion expansion.

The Thaumaturge – Rasputin Forever

It’s time to travel back to early nineteenth-century occupied Warsaw – specifically to a weird alternative version of our timeline where demonology is an actual thing. An interesting thing about The Thaumaturge is that it’s listed as an RPG. After playing it, a more apt genre description would be an ambitious point-and-click adventure, or maybe an avant-garde walking simulator if I’m going to be mean.
