Watch Dogs: Legion – Bloodline

The original Watch Dogs: Legion (Watch Dogs 3) was a bit of a hit or miss. It had serious potential with its sandbox nature of recruiting whoever you wanted off the street to work for your little hacker revolution. However, the implementation wasn’t great. It suffered from weird randomization, like having characters’ looks not matching the voice, massive story issues, and the lack of a central protagonist. The near-future City of London was and still is awesome. It has this cool dystopian feeling to it, with high surveillance and military-esque police patrolling the streets. It got a surprising number of things right. For example, the checkpoint system that now is a reality in London – all for the concerns of the mythical “environment”. All in all, a realistic depiction of the WEF future we all have to look forward to, so what’s not to like? Everyone enjoys a good despair from time to time.

Resident Evil 4 [Remake]: Separate Ways – Ada, my love!

It’s time to return to sunny and plagas infected Spain. So, suit up and arm yourself with the best weapons available! Separate Ways is a ten-euro DLC/expansion for Resident Evil 4, and honestly, for that price, I thought it was going to be a cheap cash grab, but boy, I was entirely wrong. Positively surprised by AAA gaming in these apocalyptic days? Yes, apparently, it is still possible.

Resident Evil 4 [Remake] – Welcome to Spanish Village Life

Welcome to the beautiful country of Spain. Here you will never go cold, as Spain is the country of the sun! To make sure your vacation here will be one to remember, don’t for any reason anger the locales. They do not like outsiders much. If by any chance this happens, be sure to keep a health-spray handy, and run like hell unless you want to get uncomfortable close to the Las Plagas. And you don’t want that!

Resident Evil 4 (remake) is one of the better remakes that has been made and does not feel like a pure cash grab on our dear nostalgia. However, even if I enjoyed it, I can’t help to feel that in the end, it’s just a huge waste of time narrative-wise – as the franchise treads water in the same old murky pool that we already have splashed around in for years. Regardless, it’s a fun well-made game, with a few niggling issues that stand out from the original. Let’s see what it is all about.

Desperados III – I want to like you

Boy, I have tried to like this game, but the more I try, the more it pushes me away. Everything in Desperados III except the gameplay design is fantastic – from the visuals and animations to the sound and music. Those aspects are just chef’s kiss, but the gameplay is the antithesis of what I enjoy when gaming. The water to the oil, so to say.

Half Sword Demo

How about an Exanima game, but in first/third-person? Well, welcome to Half Sword. Since it’s only a very early demo, there isn’t too much to it, but what is there is good. The demo also shows great potential for the future – if a game ever is made, that is (but let’s hope). After playing it for a few hours there is much to like. For example, how armor acts as armor and gives you protection, and that any form of melee feels deadly – even a spoon can be turned into an effective weapon. So, if you ever felt like killing a dude slowly with rusty cutlery, this is a game for you!
