Fallout Operation: Sunburst [Film]

The Fallout franchise once again invites us to watch a fan-made film, made by YouTuber SODAZ. What is cool about Fallout Operation: Sunburst, is that it takes a fascinating event (Battle for HELIOS One) from Fallout: New Vegas that you just heard about and makes a whole war movie out of it. In-game, and lore-wise, it’s a pivotal incident that formed the fate of New Vegas—so it was a pure pleasure to experience this historical event from a gaming perspective. Check out the awesome film after the click, just make sure you prepare yourself for total carnage!

The only thing that gets me is the World War One-like casualty rate of the NCR, as I doubt taking those losses are sustainable. But then again, considering the state of them in Fallout: New Vegas, it does make sense in a way—they are way stretched too thin, with the morale of the troops failing. By how much death they see to capture HELIOS One, it’s entirely understandable.

Power Armor is shown again to be incredibly strong and terrifying, with one trained Brotherhood of Steel Paladin worth a hundred NCR troopers. The average NCR soldier is very brave, though, which makes it very hard not to cheer for any of their small victories during the battle. The NCR Ranger is also badass, and I would argue even more potent than a Paladin in certain ways—sniping the hell out of them with a .50 cal rifle with special ammunition.

Great movie, and I hope the team behind it makes more!
