Hell is Us – The free comic! [Quick review]

Hell is Us is soon to be released. The fourth of September, so less than two weeks. It’s one of the few semi-high production games I look forward to, and might actually buy on release day, since I truly enjoyed the demo. If that happens, it will be a first in many years for me, which feels like a nostalgic blast from the past when this was more commonplace. Now, onto the comic. In a previous post, I told you about a free comic they were planning to release. To explain why our protagonist, Rémi, left the Peace Corps, seeing as the game starts with us wandering the dark Hadea forest alone, but in peacekeeper uniform.

Well, as promised, the comic clarifies things, yet, I wouldn’t say it goes particularly deep, in neither the world lore nor character development. However, it does tell the reason how he ends up near the borders. Rémi seems driven by a curiosity about his homeland and his own identity, not what prompted him to go, though. I guess that will remain a secret for us to find out in the main game. I just hope it’s not a case of the chosen one, but considering it’s a game, the probability is high. If you are planning to play Hell is Us, the comic, despite its light content, it’s worth a read to get a hum of things. And the art is absolutely gorgeous! You can find the comic here, just scroll down a bit.
