It was a sad day when the legendary developer Piranha Bytes was shut down. But seeing as they floundered the Elex 2 release, it might not have been too unexpected. However, out of the ashes, something new can rise, and it wasn’t long before Jenny and Björn Pankratz announced their new study Pithead Studio. And the other day, they released their first video from their new upcoming dungeon crawler, Cralon. These guys work hard & fast, as I thought we were years out, but here we are! I’m not entirely sold on the voice acting, yet, the premise of the game is solid. It seems to be a real-time first-person dungeon crawler, set in a dark and oppressive mine with very limited lighting. Spooky time, guaranteed! In these kinds of RPGs, I prefer to enter the danger with a crew, but seeing as it’s real-time, going with a solo character might have been the ultimate choice.
So, something to look forward to. I wish Pithead Studio all the luck!
